Lost my mojo
The only thing that can crush my goals is a injury! When getting older you don’t heal very quickly at all and that’s why you have to watch it. If you get an injury it can take weeks or months to heal. This is something I learnt the hard way and something I do my best to avoid.
When training on a advanced level and performing multiple sessions almost every day there is most likely going to be a injury sometime along the way. It’s very hard to avoid.
I know I need long warmups and a lot of mobility work every day. I also need to do my rehab/prehab for my shoulder and I need to watch out for heavy weights when being very tired or fatigue.
I’m good with this but I still managed to get a injury yesterday! A silly little misstake in a lift twisted my hand and now my wrist is very sore. Today I tried to train around it but it was hard and I had a minor breakdown.
My mojo sank like a stone through the floor and I cut my workout short (which I never ever do). I wrote a desperate message to the coach and I got a encouraging response telling me to rest and do other alternative workout. To understand this happens when pushing boundaries. To embrace them, learn and grow…
Just reading that made me feel back on track! Well, I might not rest more than my wrist, but yes there is other things I can do while healing. And yes, it’s a journey and I need to embrace even the bad stuff to get out of it even stronger.
