It’s illegal to give cigarettes to children! It’s illegal to give alcohol to children! It’s illegal to abuse a child BUT we can feed our children as much sugar as we want to.
Childhood obesity has ballooned in recent years. The number of overweight kids has doubled in the last 30 years, and the number of obese adolescents has tripled!!
Overweight children with a sugar addiction are more likely to grow up obece and die from diseases caused by overweight.
We should be eating a maximum of 5% of our daily calories from added sugars. However, in reality our kids are getting more than 16% of their daily calories from added sugar.
When feeding our children low fat products, thinking you doing the right thing… THINK AGAIN! Almost all low/no fat products are loaded with sugar to taste better!
THE FAT IS NOT THE ENEMY – SUGAR IS!
Sugar inside of the body= FAT!!
Stop blaming the fast food companies and the giant brands fooling us in the supermarket. Start to take responsibility as parents! Protect your child from forming bad habits that will make them sick!
