I was so nervous going in to this competition because this would be me against the top female athletes in Oceania. I had no idea how I would measure up to those athletes.
I know I worked damn hard and that I’m super fit but I also know there was a lot of gymnastics that is definitely my weaknesses. However I dived right into it and practiced my handstand walks and muscle ups intensively before the comp.
I went in to the comp with a humble attitude thinking that I should be “happy just to be here”. I told myself that it wouldn’t matter were I placed on the leaderboard… BUT after day 1 I was in second place on the leaderboard and my mindset changed from “I’m happy to just be here” to “I can win this!”
DAY 1 WORKOUTS

9-7-5 reps for time:
Bar muscle ups
Squat snatches 61/43kg
I singled my muscle ups because I know I don’t fail or gas out that way… I knew I would make up time in the snatches as well if I just took it easy in my muscle ups… I did well…. happy with a 3rd place on that one.
Time cap: 8 minutes
EVENT 2
1RM Clean + Jerk
I made a 80kg lift and it got me an event win! Amazing feeling especially since my back injury hasn’t allowed me to lift heavy in training. However I do love Clean and Jerk.
DAY 2 WORKOUTS

80ft Handstand walk
20 Toes to bar
80ft Kettlebell lunge 24/16kg
I have worked so hard on my handstand walks and Day 2 of Torian pro 2021 was a brilliant way to see how my practice paid off! It goes to show that old dogs CAN learn to sit (even though it’s slow)😅😉 I’m really proud of my handstand walks even tho I was getting no repped a fair bit. I had top walk a minimum of 5 meters before I could take a break and my hands were over the line but I got no repped anyway and my soul died each time! But despite that I placed third in that event and very happy with completing 60m handstand walk (plus about 20m no repped)
It was a real fun day, just a little more sore in my body!

Time: 19:39min This brought me an event win!
What a great feeling going in to a pure cardio event and just disconnect the brain and go for the win! I know I’m fit and I know I can push through pain BUT I also know running isn’t something I’m that good at but somehow I was first off the assault runner… at that point I knew this was a win because I love bike and rowing…Damn that felt good! Perhaps I’m good at running when I have to 😉

The last event and I was on a second place by just a few points. I knew if I won this event I would take the gold! There was NOTHING that could have stopped me going as hard as I did! I smashed that Echo bike because I know I can! I was ahead! I was that much ahead that no one cought up to me during the whole workout. Event win! And another gold to my collection.
